Name: SafeCOP
Acronym: Safe Cooperating Cyber-Physical Systems using Wireless Communication
Start date: 01/04/2016 End date: 30/06/2019
Budget: 3.7 M€
Funding source: Europe/Italy
Project objectives: SafeCOP establishes a safety assurance approach, a platform architecture, and tools for cost-efficient and practical certification of cooperating cyber-physical systems (CO-CPS). SafeCOP targets safety-related CO-CPS characterized by use of wireless communication, multiple stakeholders, dynamic system definitions, and unpredictable operating environments. It provides an approach to the safety assurance of CO-CPS, enabling thus their certification and development
Key technology involved: Safety-critical systems, cyber-physical systems, systems-of-systems, safety assurance, certification, wireless communication, methods and tools, adaptive open cooperating systems
Ro Technology output/expected output:
- Extend the current wireless protocols for safe and secure cooperation
- Evaluate the adequacy of COTS standard wireless technologies for CO-CPS to be used in the target application areas
- Propose an application-level “safety layer” on top of existing protocols to ensure safe and secure cooperation such that CO-CPS can be certified
- Design of distributed cooperative mechanisms with safety critical constraints
